is BeyondBeloit.com? BeyondBeloit is a city guide and alumni resource. The site is maintained for Beloiters by Beloiters and covers everything from the best restaurants to the gentlest dentists. Check the map to see when your city is scheduled for launch!
Moving Forward: In a continuing effort to connect Beloit College communities that are already out there (like the MyBeloit, MySpace, Facebook and LinkedIn) we are focusing on those this year and continuing the upkeep of the existing cities.
The idea is to bounce back and fourth between virtual and live communities with BeyondBeloit.com until we run out of either. There are more virtual communities to explore like blogger, livejournal, tribe etc so be prepared for some online activities.
What can you do to help? We are
asking area alumni to use the submission form to submit anything
in your area that you think belongs on the site: favorite stores,
restaurants, night clubs, cultural centers, etc. Ask yourself, "If
I were writing a guide book for New York City or Chicago, what
would I include?"
And don't forget to include yourself! The best part of this endeavor is alumni connecting with alumni; by adding your favorite places to BeyondBeloit.com, joining MyBeloit or other online communities you can help answer questions, volunteer for Homecoming/Reunion activities or just chat with friends, students and faculty online.
